Telaga Guyangwarak
Telaga Guyangwarak adalah salah satu telaga karst di Gunung Sewu yang berair sepanjang tahun. Telaga dibentuk oleh kumpulan air hujan yang mengisi lekuk dolina. Bukit-bukit batugamping di sekitarnya berbangun sinusoida atau berpuncak melengkung.
Guyangwarak Lake is one of the karst lakes on Mount Sewu which has water all year round. The lake is formed by a collection of rainwater that fills the hollow of the dolina. The surrounding limestone hills are sinusoidal or have curved peaks.
Nama Guyang Warak menunjukkan bahwa telaga ini menjadi tempat mandi badak (guyang=mandi, warak=badak). Badak terakhir pernah dilihat oleh nenek moyang penduduk Pacitan, sebelum binatang vertebrata Plistosen ini punah karena perubahan lingkungan fisik kawasan karst. Punahnya badak di Gunung Sewu diduga belum lama terjadi. Sekarang, telaga dimanfaatkan untuk budidaya ikan air tawar.
The name Guyang Warak indicates that this lake is a place for bathing rhinos (guyang=bathing, warak=rhino). The last rhinoceros was ever seen by the ancestors of Pacitan residents, before this Pleistocene vertebrate became extinct due to changes in the physical environment of the karst area. The extinction of the rhinoceros on Mount Sewu is thought to have occurred recently. Now, the lake is used for freshwater fish farming.
