Lembah Kering Purba Sadeng
The Sadeng dry valley is the southern part of the ancient valley system that intersects the limestone of the Wonosari Formation. Each valley segment alignment is influenced by the geological structure, which as a whole facilitates valley morphogenesis. The river valley, which was formed at the beginning of the Quaternary Age, coincided with the occurrence of the Riss ice age, experienced drying towards the end of the Wurm glaciation. Tectonic uplift triggered the formation of 3 series of river terraces along the western and eastern slopes, including the coastal steps outside Sadeng Bay. In each of the river steps, niches and caves with short passages have developed which were the dwellings of prehistoric humans in the past. Piles of leftover food in the form of shells at the bottom of the cave buried under the cave sediments are evidence of their presence.
Under the bottom of the Sadeng Valley there is an underground river, which comes out as a spring in Teluk Sadeng. The local valley floor is covered with tuff, which has a thickness of up to 2 m. Distilled wells, which only have water during the rainy season, are located south of Wotawati Village.
